"In my first connection with Pat, Kyle and Mike, I asked them to take a peek at my website. Within 10 minutes, they kindly explained to me that I had a 'branded' website and then continued to tell me a bit what 'internet marketing' was all about - I had no idea such a thing existed. How has the BDL helped me? It is an interesting question.

There are three main ways that it has helped me get better at the end of 2009, and will help me expand in 2010. First, you make connections with like minded people, and people who are themselves connected. The internet is a lot like offline business, there is nearly as much to be said about WHO you know as WHAT you know. The BDL line gives you an opportunity to actually converse and connect with the connectors. The introductions and and relationships I am starting to build as a direct result of my involvement in the BDL line will be invaluable to me in the future.

Second, you get a great sense of collaboration. And this actually comes through several different mediums. The forum allows you to peer into the minds of your peers and mentors, and glean the best ideas that you can put to work in your business, while also seeing and avoiding mistakes and learning how to tackle any problems that arise. Also, the weekly mastermind calls allow you to do this real time, to solicit ideas, to get feedback, and to provide feedback in a very open way. Having different perspectives helps generate new sparks, some of which will definitely turn into fires for you in the future.

Last, and perhaps most important to me, is a sense of accountability. I am going to participate in the calls. I am going to ask questions in the forums. Otherwise I am just wasting my money. And each week, I am going to commit to finish something. And if I don't get it finished, I have to admit it on the call, and who wants to admit they didn't do what they said they were going to do? The BDL members hold each other accountable, all while pushing and pulling a common direction of learning and growing together.
